Gabrielle Goodman, an ASCAP Award-winning songwriter, transcends musical boundaries as a vocalist, composer, educator, and author. With a repertoire ranging from jazz to R&B, gospel, and classical, Goodman’s multifaceted talent has garnered global acclaim, particularly for her albums "Travelin Light," "Until We Love," "Songs From The Book," and "Angel Eyes," celebrated for their captivating vocal performances.
A graduate of the prestigious Peabody Conservatory, Goodman has left an indelible mark on the jazz scene with four internationally acclaimed albums, two of which were released under the Verve label. Collaborating with luminaries like Kevin Eubanks, Gary Bartz, Christian McBride, and more, her recordings such as "Travelin’ Light" and "Until Love" showcase her remarkable versatility and artistry.
Goodman’s release, "Spiritual Tapestry," promises an innovative blend of negro spirituals infused with jazz and gospel influences, featuring collaborations with esteemed artists like Patrice Rushen and Terri Lyne Carrington.
Before stepping into her solo career, Goodman toured globally as a backing vocalist for icons like Chaka Khan and Roberta Flack, while also penning hits such as “You Can Make The Story Right” for Khan. Her stage presence has graced renowned jazz festivals worldwide, earning her accolades from critics and audiences alike.
As a respected educator, Goodman is a Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music, renowned for her groundbreaking book "Vocal Improvisation," a staple in teaching improvisation across jazz, gospel, and R&B genres. Her influence extends globally through keynote speeches and masterclasses, inspiring students from Japan to Trinidad.
Beyond her teaching and recording endeavors, Goodman’s performances with leading orchestras and appearances in theatrical productions like "Ain’t Misbehavin’" and "King" underscore her versatility and artistry.
